Holiday Rambling

Happy Holidays to all!!

I havnt posted a blog since mid October, since then, Halloween and Thanksgiving have both already passed, and right now its ten minutes to Five on Christmas morning and a week left til we wrap up the year and enter 2011.

Thanksgiving- I remember waking up early on a cold and rainy forty somewhat degree weather to meet up with the guys and play some flag football. Afterwards, would go back home and get ready for a family gathering at late noon. On the drive home after playing some football, I couldnt help but think of reality. Leaving the game of football even a bit earlier than expected, due to mother nature taking its toll, I couldnt help but think of those who didnt have a place to run to. Or even worse, those who are spending the day alone. I couldnt help but think how sad it seems, that only on certain days society becomes all about focusing on what theyre thankful for, and acknowledging even the many "small" blessings and the simple things in life. It seems like its easily forgotten, because many choose to wrap theyre dinner early so they can be first in line with the chance to get best deals and offers etc...Some people, ::shakes my head:: can go from simple to material in a heart beat!

...Now, I obviously cant help but notice the Holiday spirit thats going around. The music, the lights, the ornaments, the presents...its Christmas! On this day we celebrate the birth of a NEW BORN KING!, the KING of KINGS, the PRINCE of PEACE! the SON OF GOD! ...BABY JESUS, EMANNUEL! I take a look at the Nativity, and reflect on his birth, where he was, and his surroundings... in a mager!, the MOST HIGH! most HOLY, born in a small mager, an area meant for cattle!! I take a look at a Christmas trees during Holiday parties, and relize the abundant amount of presents under the tree, as I take a look at the nativity again and see that Jesus only received three gifts, he's satisfied with three! some of us are not satisifed enough when we receive gifts during Christmas... ::shakes head::

The three wisemen gave gifts of offering to The Lord. Gifts of gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. Just like them we shall do the same, and offer ourselves. Offer ourselves to each other, those who we encounter and are surrounded by, and of course to God, i guess the reflection can be, what kind of person are you offering yourself as?

anyyywaysss sorry for the long holiday rambling blog!

stay blessed yall!

PEACE and MERRY CHRISTMAS! HO HO HO
