THE GOOD FIGHT of FAITH....I FIGHT THAT!

Sunday, August 25th the last and final day of the YFL retreat, "The Good Fight of Faith." Personally, I felt that technically I didn't have any reason on showing up, I didn't serve or participate, heck I'm not even considered apart of the youth, but I did decide to show up on the last day just to show my support and in welcoming the new brothers/sisters into this community.

I arrived during the morning worship and was able to sit in on the last session (Growing in the Holy Spirit) which I was inspired by given by Alyssa and sharers Kevin and Megan.

Sitting down by the visuals booth listening to the speakers talk about and how they've grown in they're faith, I couldn't help but think about when I was in the position of the participants, being the one sitting, listening, and everything just being new. I went back and thought about when I first decided to say YES to GOD and when I dedicated myself to become a member of the ministry formerly known as YFC, now YFL. It happened on the same weekend, thirteen years ago back in 98. Since then, God has blessed me abundantly! which is another reason why I was soo excited in seeing the youth (especially participants/and first time service team members) this Sunday at camp.

I'm excited for everyone who said YES to GOD and YES to this ministry. I may even be more excited than some people may be for themselves. Simply, because I dont know if people exactly understand what kind of doors have been opened for them this weekend! Through this ministry, God will reveal. For me (and I'm sure for many others) have discovered more about themselves, their talents, passions, strengths. Through this ministry, I've seen great friendships be built that last a lifetime! Through this ministry, people go where they would never have expected to have gone before, different cities, states, or even over seas to different countries OR even to the point of learning other languages! As you get older, I've known people who've landed jobs just because of their experience and opportunities they've received being apart of this ministry. My point? Its God through this ministry he will lead you, He will mold you.

...and THAT is why im excited!! to all the NEW BROTHERS and SISTERS who attended the "THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH" YFL retreat, YALL BETTER BE EXCITED!! cause i just wanna let you know, YOU'RE APART OF SOMETHING BIGGGGGGG....

INSPIRED at the BALL PARK by doing THE WAVE

Saturday, May 28th, Texas reached 100 degrees for the first time this year, a real hott day to watch a game of baseball, but its all good, saw back to back to back homeruns! Rangers got the victory... =)



....As I was watching the game with an 8-0 lead, I see a young little girl probably no older than 10 yrs old a couple of rows to the front right side of me initiate to start a wave along with her younger brother to her side. I see them two attempt a few times, and i see the little girl turn around and try to encourage the crowd in her section to get up and start the wave... I see her and her brother try again, then i see the wave move towards to her right then dies out, she'd try again, and it goes further to the right, and again dies. Then I start seeing the wave start from her but go the other direction now to the left, then dies out and dies out. After a couple more attempts of the wave it became successful and went BOTH directions around the stadium quite a FEW times!! After the inning and the fun wave ended I heard her small tiny voice chant "lets go rangers!" I kinda laughed cause i was like..."wow! look at this girl!" Then more people joined her and began chantin LETS GO RANGERS!!



MORAL OF THE STORY: No matter our size, big, small or tall, our age, young or old, or our gender, ONE person has the power to make a difference. One person has the power to influence. To be able move a group, crowd, or any sized audience. =)

Dipolog, a small city with its own airport and where majority of the Lopez family stays.. first time I've been back since 88. This calls for a reason to celebrate!

quick Philippines update

soo i've arrived,and so far so good... Been relaxin, havin fun, care free, check out lots of malls, have a couple of parties, experienced a very inspiring weekend (World Singles Congress) in Tarlac, and finally met up with some relatives from around here that I havnt seen in over 20+ years...

now im in the airport bout to board the plane, and head where majority of the fam resides in... Dipolog... down south... I hear scary things... PRAY FOR ME! :-D
