a spiritual journey

Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season. During this period I like to use it as a time to reflect, and in how I can offer myself in sacrifice. Its hard to give up something you truly love, but I'm reminded every time I think about THE passion. (John 3:16)

...Whenever God wanted to prepare someone for his purposes, he took 40 days...

Noahs life was transformed by 40 days of rain.

Moses was transformed by 40 days of Mount Sinai

The spies were transformed by 40 days in the Promise Land

David was transformed by Goliath's 40-day challenge.

Elijah was transformed when God gave him 40 days of strength from a single meal.

The entire city of Nineveh was transformed when God gave the people 40 days to change.

Jesus was empowered by 40 days in the wilderness.

The disciples were transformed by 40 days with Jesus after his resurrection.

and in the next 40 days I pray that God will transform not just me, but us all during this season of Lent...

hmm so final words???

...i guess let us be reminded that in everything we do, with what we say, in how we act, may it all come back to glorifying God....

our sacrifices??? its not about us...

nothing shouldve ever been about us.
